Bükk Observatory (Bükki Csillagda)
The recently opened Bükk Observatory is located just 14 km from Bükkszentkereszt in the direction of Répáshuta.
The observatory provides unique opportunities for astronomical observations in Hungary. The building is located at an altitude of 635 meters above sea level, so the stars show a much clearer and sharper image than if we were looking at them from the Great Plain.

Lillafüred attractions
Lillafüred is approx. 10 km from Bükkszentkereszt. It’s one of the most important tourist destinations in Hungary. Its’ beautiful location offers plenty of attractions for nature lovers.
The hanging garden and waterfall in Lillafüred
The hanging garden located next to the Palace Hotel offers a unique natural experience for lovers of romance and art. The labyrinth-like hanging garden is a "thematic promenade" consisting of 9 stations, which is connected to the Szinva nature trail. The individual stops are about poetry, poets, naturalists, and love. A statue of Attila József can also be found on the trail.
Directly next to the hanging garden is a 20 m high waterfall with a beautiful view. The waterfall is a sight to behold in all seasons, and in winter, the frozen icicles of the rapids are a favourite subject for photography enthusiasts.
Anna limestone tufa cave
The limestone cave is located near the waterfall, which is special because there are only 6 such caves in the world. The total length of its passages is 570 m, of which the section which can be visited is 208 m long. The cave is open from May to the end of September. Distance through the hanging garden, on foot is approximately 10 minutes.

Saint Stephen stalactite cave
The entrance to the cave is approx. 500 m from the Palace Hotel in Lillafüred. The total length of its passages is 1043 meters, and its vertical extent is 94 meters. The length of the section which can be visited is 170 meters, the length of the route covered during the visit is a 340 meter round trip. Cave visits are available every hour with a tour guide. The cave can be visited all year round. Distance from the hotel: 15 minutes on foot through the park in Lillafüred.

Forest railway
The railway provides visitors with numerous attractions as it runs through one of the most beautiful forest environments in the country.
Route:
- In the direction of Garadna: along the shores of Lake Hámori, Újmassa, Pisztrángtelep, Garadna. Train journey duration: approx. 15 minutes (round trip: approx. 40 minutes).
- In the direction of Miskolc: Diósgyőr Paper Factory, Diósgyőr Castle, Miskolc - Kilian district. Train journey duration: approx. 30 minutes.
Forestry museum and railway history exhibition
It is located at the terminus of the Garadna railway. Distance from Lillafüred is approx. 15 minutes.
Trout farm with outdoor restaurant
It can be reached by rail, bicycle, bus or car. Distance from Lillafüred: approx. 5 km.

Massa Museum – Újmassa
Ancient smelter, exhibition and open-air museum. Distance from the hotel: approx. 4 km.
Otto Herman memorial house
The exhibition on the Erzsébet promenade in Lillafüred shows the scientist’s ties to the Bükk Mountains. The memorial house was created from the former residence of the polymath. Distance from the hotel: approx. 20 minutes (by foot through Lillafüred park).
Kohászati Múzeum Felsőhámorban
A kohászat egyetemes történetét bemutató kiállítás a Lillafüred melletti településen tekinthető meg. Távolság a szállodától: a függőkerten lesétálva gyalog kb. 20 perc.
Lillafüred Sports and Adventure Park
The new entertainment complex is located next to the chair lift (Libegő). Each visitor can choose between outdoor and indoor attractions. The adventure park offers almost endless possibilities for entertainment and family programs.

Miskolc Zoo and Cultural Park ("Wildlife Park")
It can be reached by turning left at the administrative sign for Miskolc, Lillafüred, along a small forest road. Many animal species of Hungary and the whole world can be seen here. The large carnivores are represented by tigers, Persian leopards, wolves and lynxes, but the wildlife park is also home to many other special animals, such as Liszt's monkeys, big furry armadillos, North American porcupine, Pere David's deer and the audience’s favorite, meerkats. Distance from Lillafüred: approx. 5 km, towards Miskolc.

Diósgyőr Castle
The renovated Diósgyőr castle is approximately 8 km from Lillafüred (by car, bus or light train). Visitors of all ages are welcome in the castle with plenty of programs.
Miskolctapolca – Cave and Spa
Bathers can enjoy a unique experience. The cave bath can be visited all year round. Distance from Lillafüred: approx. 20 km.

Bobsled track in Miskolctapolca
The bobsled track is located in Miskolctapolca, near the Cave Bath. The track leading through the oak forest is 800 meters long, the difference in level between its lowest and highest point is approx. 54 meters. It's great fun both in winter and summer. Distance from Lillafüred: approx. 20 km.

Lillafüred Chair lift (LIBEGŐ)
The chairlift is located a few hundred meters from the Adventure Park. The cable car on Jávor Mountain (Jávorhegy), which rises on the wild side of the Bükk Mountains, transports passengers for 1 km. The new cable car starts at 333 meters and transports passengers 1,080 meters to the Jávor mountain station located at an altitude of 606 meters. More than 200 people can enjoy the scenery at the same time during the 11-12 minute ride. There is also a scooter trail and an Oxygen hiking trail nearby. Lillafüred is a climatic health resort located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, which is why the gentle and healing climate of the Oxygen hiking trail is excellent for recreation, sports, and excursions. On the 7-kilometer road section, visitors can get to know the rich fauna and flora of the Bükk, the Saint Stephen and Hajnalka springs hidden in the forest, as well as the pilgrimage sites and healing stones in the area. The Roller Trail provides a wild and unique scenery for this mountain sport (which is still a novelty in Hungary ), with all-terrain scooters used on the slopes and rolling countryside, a new type of meaningful entertainment for the whole family every day of the year.
